The local poetry and storytelling group, The Boxcar Voices, is scheduled to host its next event Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. at the end. theater in downtown Florence.

The themed event is titled “Awkward Ever Afters and Unhappy Endings.” In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, anyone is invited to participate in an open-mic evening to share love stories and poems. All happy, sad, funny, weird and sappy stories are welcomed and encouraged.

The event is free and open to the public.
