St. Petersburg Orchestra performs on campus

The “Tschaikowski” St. Petersburg State Orchestra played an evening performance last Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Norton Auditorium.

The performance consisted of “Prelude and Liebestold” from the opera “Tristan und Isolde” by Richard Wagner and Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major, Opus 19,” which featured solo pianist Alexander Pirozhenko. The evening closed with Ravel’s orchestra arrangement of Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition.”

The concert was made possible by On Stage.
