What in the world ever happened to Antoine Dodson?

Sorry YouTube addicts, but “Hide yo kids, hide yo wife and hide yo husband,” is a thing of the past. Recently, the fame of Antoine Dodson has dwindled down to a figment of many people’s memories.

So whatever happened to Dodson? He went to jail. Dodson ended up behind bars in a recent arrest in his hometown, Huntsville.

According to the Madison County sheriff’s department’s website, Dodson was booked on charges including possession of marijuana, failure to appear, speeding and failure to possess liability insurance.

Dodson’s fame grew as a YouTube sensation after his appearance on WAFF’s nightly newscast was auto-tuned by the brothers from Auto-Tune the News. Dodson warned the nightly newscast viewers of the “rapist in Lincoln Park” and exclaimed that “we gon’ find you.”

Dodson, oblivious to the fame he would garner in the next few days, went on with his normal life. Dodson told George Lopez that two days after the altercation agents were calling him asking to sign a contract for a recording.

He appeared on shows such as The Today Show, New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly, the BET Hip-Hop Awards and many other talk shows after the famous event in Lincoln Park.

Dodson went on to super-stardom, appearing on charts in the U.S., Sweden and many other countries with the song made famous by the Gregory Brothers called “The Bed Intruder Song.”

Dodson told Lopez on his late-night show, “I’m living. I get to go all places I ain’t never been.”

He went on to tell Lopez the first thing he bought was a Gucci bag and his ultimate goal was to get his family out of the projects and even out of the hood.

Dodson’s fame provided him with entrepreneurial opportunities, such as selling Halloween costumes, apps on iTunes and merchandise from his website. Dodson told Mark Hopus on Fuse that he looks at all of his fame and the attention as an opportunity to get the story out there about rape and abuse.
