The UNA Police have identified a university staff member as a suspect who may have sent a suspicious substance through the mail yesterday to a faculty member in Stevens Hall.

The name and position of the staff member are not being released at this time. The suspect has been placed on unpaid leave and prohibited from setting foot on university property for the duration of the investigation. The case is being turned over to the District Attorney and Postal Inspector.

The substance in question is still being analyzed by the Alabama Department of Forensics.
