A University of North Alabama student was arrested Thursday by Jasper Police for allegedly setting fire over the weekend to a special needs playground at Memorial Park in Jasper, according to reports from WBRC.

Jasper Police said Thursday afternoon that Benjamin Logan Speck, 18, was arrested on UNA’s campus and is currently being held on a $15,000 bail. Police are still investigating the case in which three other suspects may have also been involved.

Shortly after the special needs playground fire took place, Mayor Sonny Posey said Sunday that the city would reward $5,000 to anyone who had information that would assist in the arrest, said WBRC.
