Three hundred six students voted in the 2017 run-off election for the Student Government Association’s secretary position.

Students elected freshman Jessie Harbuck as the 2017-18 SGA secretary. Harbuck received 167 votes to freshman Samantha Thompson’s 139 votes.

“It feels amazing,” Harbuck said. “I wasn’t expecting it at all.”

She will join the other 2017-18 officers when they take office next year.

Harbuck said she hopes to live up to the students’ expectations.
