Rivertown Coffee reopened today after being closed since May 9 when a fire caused electrical and plumbing damage.

The fire also caused damage to the Shoals Theatre next door.

Rivertown employee Rob McFarlane said they opened around noon after health and safety checks were complete.

“Everything’s pretty good right now,” said McFarlane. “We still have the windows (that) are broken, so we’ve got those boarded up, but that’s it.”

Community members and students alike can now visit Rivertown during their regular business hours: Monday–Thursday from 7 a.m.– 10p.m., Friday from 7 a.m.–11 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.
