UPC delegates approved the use of $3,200 for the Culture and Education Committee’s breast cancer awareness event at their Sept. 13 meeting.

The breast cancer awareness event will be held Oct. 16 and will be co-hosted with Zeta Tau Alpha, and Alpha Kappa Alpha.

Jonathan Barnett, chairman of the Culture and Education Committee said, “It will be a great program. It is personal to me because my grandma died of breast cancer. We need to be aware of these illness that might be genetic.”

Delegate Brandon Landis, who abstained from voting, is concerned that the budget is too large for the event and the event attendance may not be high.
