UNA signed 24 recruits for the 2014 football season Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Throughout Signing Day, the Athletics Dept. sent out tweets for each new recruit. The tweets included information about each new player such as hometown, school, height and weight.

The new recruits will begin training in August, said Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Todd Vardaman.

“I know the coaches staff is very pleased,” Vardaman said. “They got a very good mix of high school signees and junior college players that are coming in.”

While not all players that were offered positions accepted, Athletics will continue to sign players until the season starts, Vardaman said.

“At the Division-II level, recruiting goes on all the time.”

While the new recruits will begin training in the fall, drills have already begun for players currently enrolled at UNA, Vardaman said.
