Let the Good Times Roar

Over the past couple of weeks, students across campus — myself included — have been preparing for homecoming. The theme this year, Let The Good Times Roar, has been interpreted in many ways across campus.

This diversity could be seen at the homecoming parade the day of the big game. Floats of many shapes, sizes and colors made their way through downtown, painting the community with shades of purple and gold.

Kids threw their arms out for candy and echoed their best imitations of Leo and Una down Court Street.

In addition to the parade, the spirit competition included window painting on Tuesday and a pep cheer at the spirit rally on Friday night. Competing organizations received recognition at the big game where UNA triumphed over the University of West Georgia.

After seeing the dedication and pride that went into Spirit Week and homecoming as a whole, there is no doubt in my mind that the campus and community helped push the Lions to a victory last weekend.
