Program Council plans fundraisers, Halloween events

The University Program Council met on Oct. 10 to discuss upcoming fundraisers and on campus Halloween events.

UPC will be hosting a movie night featuring the movie, The Conjuring, at the Amphitheater on October 28.

At the meeting, UPC discussed the possibility of teaming up with the sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, for the university recognized “Pink Out” football game supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“If agreed, there would only be pink things under the SGA tent in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Spirit Chairwoman, Carrie Bailey. “While we would be teaming up with Zeta Tau Alpha, none of the pink shakers and novelties will have their name on it.”

Freshmen Forum members will be going door to door trick or treating for canned goods on October 31. The canned goods will be donated to the nonprofit organization of their choice.

UPC’s Step Show will be at Norton Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Oct. 22.

“Everything is going great with Step Show,” said Service Chairwoman, Lesley Carter. “We currently have 10 RSOs registered to participate in Step Show.”

Proceeds from Step Show will go towards United Way.
