Clark resigns from head coaching position after 4 years

Stuart Clark officially resigned from his position as head coach of the UNA golf team on Thursday, July 25, said officials from the UNA athletic department.

Clark has coached the Lions since the Fall of 2009, following the retirement of Billy Gamble. He compiled a 487-113-6 record during his tenure, which includes both the fall and spring seasons of each year.

With the Clark’s resignation, the athletic department will be seeking another new head coach. This will be the fifth time since November that the department has opened up a head coaching position. The first to resign was Graham Winkworth, former head soccer coach, who took the same position at the University of South Alabama in November of 2012. LeeAnna Brown, former head cheerleading coach, was replaced in January. Terry Fowler, former head women’s basketball coach, resigned to take the same position at USA on April 18.
