‘Condom Casino’ to promote safe sex practices, awareness

The Culture and Education Committee of UPC will be hosting a Condom Casino on Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the GUC Atrium from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Condom Casino Tour, a company based out of Boston, will be setting up a life-like casino with 10 games and providing more than 2,000 condoms for students to use as chips or tokens during the casino games.

“The whole thing is meant to be educational in a fun way,” said Meggin Major, committee chair. “Everything will be geared toward sex education and safe sex practices.”

Major said her committee wanted to do something around the Valentine’s holiday to educate students on safe sex practices.

“We had the budget and the money to do something like this,” she said. “We thought it would be a fun way for people to get their resources.”

The event is free and open to all students, Major said.

“People just need to show up and have fun,” she said.
