Florence Police arrested and charged a man in the recent break-ins at two Florence apartment complexes Sept. 26.

Mitchell Blake Terry, 31, has been charged with first-degree sexual assault, a Class C felony, and burglary, police officials said.

Terry is charged with the alleged sexual assault of an 18-year old female UNA student in her Summit Ridge apartment Sept. 17, said Florence police Chief Ron Tyler.  The complex is located approximately 3.5 miles from UNA’s campus.

“We are still investigating the case, but we are confident that the person at Summit Ridge has been arrested and charged and that the evidence we have is going to bring about a guilty verdict,” Tyler said.

A Class C felony carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, according to the criminal code of Alabama.
