Bid Day: The UNA Sorority Welcome!
On Sept. 2, UNA’s sororities Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Phi Mu and Zeta Tau Alpha held their annual bid day at the Memorial Amphitheater to welcome their newest sisters.
Within the week prior, rushees went through rounds with each sorority to see which would be their best fit. UNA Bid Day is a long-standing tradition and a great experience that signifies new friendships and sisterhoods for Bid Day participants, as well as an opportunity for others to support Bid Day attendees by viewing and cheering from the crowd.
The newest sorority sisters were divided into groups and lined up on stage, where the announcer proceeded to call their names one by one. Then, the sorority sisters would jump into the arms of their new family.
“Getting to run home to my bid day big was so exciting!” said new sorority sister Anna Claire Norton. “It was somebody I had talked to during recruitment, and I got to give her the biggest hug.”
UNA’s 2024 Bid Day was a huge success and a fun experience for those involved.
