Dr. Eric Kirkman, the Director of Kilby Laboratory School, has been appointed by the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools to serve on the CLAS Board of Directors, according to a statement from UNA.
Kirkman was picked by the Alabama Association of Elementary School Administrators “to join this group of educational leaders dedicated to advancing excellence in leadership and promoting positive change in Alabama Schools,” the statement said. The Board of Directors shapes the direction and goals of CLAS by empowering educational leaders throughout Alabama.
“Being elected to the CLAS Board of Directors by my peers from across the state truly makes it an honor to serve. It is my hope that I can continue to expand the footprint of Kilby and the University of North Alabama by working with other P-12 and post-secondary education leaders as we establish partnerships for teacher training and leadership development,” Kirkman said.
