The registration deadline to vote in the upcoming state and federal elections is approaching quickly.
Residents of the State of Alabama can register to vote in three different ways. They can register in-person at local election offices until the end of Monday, Oct. 21, by end of business. The deadline to register online is 11:59 p.m. on the same day. Registration by mail can be completed as long as their registration is postmarked by Oct. 21.
According to Vote.gov, a person’s voter registration is tied to where they live, meaning that college students can typically vote either in their hometown or in the city where they go to school, depending on the residency requirements of their state.
UNA’s Student Government Association also encourages the student body to register to vote before the deadline, and will host an event to promote registration on Oct. 2 in the Guillot University Center atrium.
