The annual pumpkin drop put on by First Fridays will take place Friday, Oct. 4. Rick’s Produce is proudly supplying the biggest pumpkin manageable, and the University will provide the much-needed lift in order to get it high in the air. The Downtown Florence Alliance hopes to see a pumpkin that weighs more than 225 lbs, which was what the community saw last year.
It is encouraged that UNA students attend the pumpkin drop to support the community, as there will be food, vendors, dance performances and live music. The drop is set to happen in front of Mugshots around 7 p.m. With this tradition of over a decade, the community highly anticipates this year’s drop.
