Last Fall, Juliana Davis decided that UNA needed a different space for like-minded people to come together. She formed The Lion’s Guild, a Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) club, that has quickly gained momentum. The club has grown to hold over 130 members in just a year.
“Our goal is to foster a sense of community among those who enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons and to introduce more people to the game,” said Davis.
The Lion’s Guild offers bi-weekly meetings every other Thursday, where players can dive into various D&D campaigns. Additionally, the club assists members in finding suitable campaigns through forms designed to gauge preferences.
For those more involved, a fee of five dollars for each semester grants access to exclusive perks, including workshops and movie nights featuring pizza.
“These events allow our members to not only hone their D&D skills but also socialize in a fun, relaxed environment,” Davis explained.
Despite the club being only a year old, its popularity continues to grow as it builds a welcoming and inclusive community.
“We’re new, but we’re growing fast,” Davis said, noting the club’s impressive rise in membership.
Looking ahead, she is eager to expand the club’s offerings and hopes to meet more interested members.
“I’m usually available between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. most days for anyone who has questions or wants to learn more,” Davis shared.
As the Lion’s Guild grows, Davis and her team remain committed to encouraging newcomers and veterans of the game to join in on the fun.
