T-Pain fills Flowers Hall for Spring Concert
March 16, 2018
An audience of UNA students spent the night jumping and screaming the night away to the musical stylings of hip-hop artist T-Pain March 15.
The attendees lined up hours before the doors opened at 7 p.m. as they waited to fill Flowers Hall.
Once inside, listeners spanned from the edge of the stage to the back of the gymnasium and the majority of the upstairs bleachers.
The concert started at 8 p.m. with DJ Jaylew to pump up the crowd before rapper A1 took the stage.
A1 excited the crowd by taking selfies with students, standing among the crowd and bringing girls on stage for a twerking contest.
The night continued with T-Pain taking the stage. The hip-hop artist mesmerized the crowd with his use of auto-tune and his vocals.
He sang some of his own songs, such as “Buy U a Drink,” but he also let the audience have fun with other party songs, such as Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What.”
Students were so focused on T-Pain, the majority did not notice when opening act A1 snuck in to join the rest of the crowd watching the concert.
Junior Evie Liles said watching T-Pain perform gave her flashbacks to childhood.
“I listened to him when I was 11 (years old), so it (was) really cool to listen to him 10 years later,” Liles said.
