Shots rang out early in the morning on Nov. 10 at Tuskegee University, where one person was killed and 16 more were injured according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
An official ALEA news release stated that 12 of the injured individuals at TU resulted directly from the gunfire. The remaining four injured persons sustained their injuries unrelated to the gunfire throughout the course of the shooting. The one person killed was La’Tavion Johnson, 18.
ALEA reports that a Montgomery man, Jaquez Myrick, 25, was arrested later on the same day in connection to the shooting. He was charged with Possession of a Machine Gun. Other sources also report that a second arrest has been made. Jeremiah Williams, 20, was arrested and charged with the same charges as Myrick.
As of this writing, Williams has not been additionally charged with any crimes directly related to the shooting.
