UNA Lions are looking to continue their winning streak against Lipscomb University and are steadily waiting to end their losing streak against Austin Peay State University. Both games are taking place at the CB&S Bank Arena at Flowers Hall with the Lipscomb game taking place on Jan. 23 and the Austin Peay game on Jan. 25.
Even though UNA has only had four games against Austin Peay, they managed to lose three out of those four games. It has been a couple of months since their last matchup and the people are hoping to see UNA take them down this time. Previously, UNA has always had close matches with Austin Peay, the games ending with scores of 71-77, 79-87, and 80-83. This time UNA will display what training and practice they have gone through as a team since their last game.
UNA currently has won two games in a row against Lipscomb and they are looking to make it three in a row at the upcoming game. UNA has scored an average of 63.83 points against Austin Peay and 69.42 points against Lipscomb but in total they have scored 1,216 points against both teams combined and the people want to see the numbers rise. In their most recent game against Austin Peay, the Lady Lions put up one heck of a fight, even though they were far behind in the second half, and they can use information from that game and apply it here to further increase their athletic abilities to take the win on Jan. 23.
Lipscomb has a very impressive team. They have continued to beat the Lions since 2022, but that can end on Jan. 25th. The Lady Lions can show them just how much they have grown since then as a team and as individuals. Some season highs could be broken at these upcoming games. Player India Howard has recently made a season high of 13 points at her last game against Austin Peay and Veronaye Charlton made her season high rebounds of four also against Austin Peay. There is potential for the team to break records and finally get revenge against Austin Peay and Lipscomb at these upcoming games.
