Michelle Eubanks, the University of North Alabama’s Public Relations Director, released a statement regarding President Trump’s recent executive order pausing Federal grants and loans on Jan. 29.
“As many of you are aware, a recent executive order has been issued that may impact federal funding programs,” Eubanks said. “Based on our current understanding, this order will not affect access to Pell Grants or other forms of federal financial assistance.”
She said it is too early to understand the full impact and that the University is going to provide information and updates as soon as they are available. The University is “actively monitoring the situation.”
Trump’s executive order was rescinded early Wednesday Morning, less than two days after it was ordered, due to mass confusion.
