UNA Education Abroad hosted the event “Fall in Love with Travel”: Vision Board Edition on Feb. 11 in the GUC from 2pm until 3pm.
During this event, students were encouraged to create their own vision boards to showcase their travel dreams. Students were given the option of crafting physical or digital copies. A diverse range of travel magazines and printed photos along with other crafting supplies where provided for students. Snacks like cookies, chips and sparkling water were also provided.
“This event was about encouraging dreams and creativity when it comes to study abroad opportunities and students envisioning what could be possible.” said Alexandria Buttgereit, UNA’s Education Abroad & International Exchanges Coordinator.
This event was one of UNA’s Education Abroad’s first “hands-on” events. Buttgereit expresses that she was worried about the weather causing students to not want to go out and attend events that day. “It was truly a joy to hear from students about where they have been, want to go and why.” said Buttgereit.
While students were working on crafting their travel vision boards, Buttgereit went around and discussed with each student about their vision boards. She talked to them about their travel plans and helped to inform them if UNA had any future events that matched.

This event was meant to be an “engaging” event for students to express their creativity and “stimulate hope for what could be”. Buttgereit said, “ Sometimes students just need to step back and enjoy quality time learning about new areas of interest at UNA they may not have known about.”
UNA Education Abroad plans on continuing having interactive events to inform and support students about future study abroad opportunities. “Having continued attendance will be key to having more of these events” said Buttgereit.
