UNA Housing and Residence Life hosted a “Cards and Cookies” event for students on Feb 12 in Olive Residents Hall. The event started at 5pm and lasted until 6pm.
This event was free for students to come together and create Valentines Day cards for friends or loved ones while enjoying cookies. All crafting supplies like paper and markers were provided for students to use. Valentines Day cookies were provided for everyone attending the event.
“It’s about socializing and making a card by simply just making a compliment to somebody or helping encourage somebody,” said Raven Qualls, an Olive Hall Resident Advisor hosting the event.
“I had fun making my card for my friend,” said Courtney Lyons, a student attending the event. “I think it was a smaller and quieter event, but I kind of enjoyed that.”

“Everyone should be involved on campus,” said Qualls. “I feel like that is the key role of having a good college experience.”
Qualls expresses that events like this one are important for students on campus to bring together the community and it gives students the opportunity to engage in their campus and community.
“Housing and Residents life is very fun,” said Qualls. “If you ever get a chance to be a part of Housing and Residents life, there is a lot put into it and there are so many good things that come with this job.”
Overall, students that attended the event said that they enjoyed the event and had a good time.
