Shoals Gold Record Room hosted local artist Caleb Elliott for a night of music and fun. The event was open to all in the Shoals community.
On April 12, Elliott played live for the first time at the Shoals Gold Record Room. The show started at 8:00 p.m., and tickets were $20. It featured many of his past songs and a few that will be in his upcoming album.
During this show, Elliott partnered with Shoals Symphony Strings, which gave his music an orchestral twist.
Elliott also has a background in classical music, with his mother starting him on the cello at a young age. He later ventured out of classical music and started creating the music he makes today.
“The classical realm was more of a discipline, and I didn’t really find a creative outlet in the classical realm,” said Elliot. “So when I discovered the guitar, all of a sudden, there were no rules.”
He played songs from his newest album “Weed, Wine, & Time,” an album he wrote during quarantine. One song was “FUBC”, which he described as a “thought experience.” He also played “Blue” and “Weed, Wine & Time” from the same album.
He played his song “Burns Like Hell,” which was featured as a background song in the critically acclaimed television series “Shameless.”
He also played “Slow Burn”, which is an unreleased song that will be coming out in his next album.
Elliott showed off his cello skills in “Makes Me Wonder” and “Without Warning.” To close off the show, Elliott played “Get Me Out of Here,” which is his most-streamed song on Spotify.
Elliott describes his music as genre-free.
“I write stuff that I like, and then people tell me what genre it fits in,” said Elliott.
