Steam leak causes construction before break
November 20, 2017
Despite classes winding down before Thanksgiving Break, students should be aware of potentially harmful construction on campus.
Early Nov. 20, the UNA community discovered an emergency steam leak on the road leading to the parking deck between LaGrange Hall and the Student Recreation Center.
Workers began working on the leak soon after they discovered it early this morning. They will work on this leak through Thanksgiving Break until the repair is finished.
Facilities Administration and Planning Project Manager Kevin Hudson said he expects to complete the repairs by the end of the week.
Students are still able to access the parking deck from Pine Street at this time, but workers might block this area off as they uncover the full extent of the leak.
Until workers complete this repair, Hudson said he encourages students to use Circular Road on the bottom floor of the parking deck.
Hudson said he expects the road to be back in normal operation by Nov. 27.
