Volleyball sweeps Union through offensive dominance
October 20, 2017
North Alabama volleyball’s offense took center stage Oct. 20 in Flowers Hall for the Lions match against Union.
The Lions shut the Bulldogs out 3-0 and won the last two sets by a margin of 12 points.
Two Lions had kills in the double digits, senior Lexie Bradley with 11 and senior Jessica Austin with 10.
UNA Head Volleyball coach Stephanie Radecki said this was an encouraging win after a loss Oct. 17 against University of Montevallo.
“We obviously had a bad loss Tuesday, so it’s nice to bounce back,” Radecki said. “I think Union is a really strong team, and I don’t think their record reflects how strong they are.”
This was the Lions first match back at Flowers Hall after six consecutive games on the road.
“It’s always great to be back at home with your fans and your friends watching you,” Austin said. “It’s just a great time.”
The Lions will continue playing in Flowers Hall Oct. 21 against Christian Brothers before traveling to play Mississippi College Oct. 27.
