Campus remembers UNA sophomore as “beautiful, good person”

The university confirmed the death of sophomore Hannah Bridgmon May 5.

Bridgmon, a mass communications major, died in a car accident in Franklin County, said Bryan Rachal, director of university communications.

Sophomore Kobee Vance said he will never forget Hannah and what she brought to the Department of Communications.

“I’ve known her for over a year now and we would always talk about fun tips for photography and radio,” he said in a Facebook post. “She was probably the person in the department I could relate to the most. You meant so much to our class that the com building suddenly seems empty without you.”

Dayton Wakefield said Bridgmon was his best friend, and he was shocked to learn about Bridgmon’s death in a Facebook post.

“I had no idea last night would be the last time I got to see you or hear you laugh at my little corny jokes,” he said. “I already miss you so much. You text me this morning before class, and I can’t explain how much of a beautiful, good person you were.”

At this time, the police are unable to confirm how the accident occurred or if anyone else was injured in the accident.
