Police arrest UNA football player on felony charges

The UNA football team may be short one key offensive weapon heading into the 2016 season.
Florence Police Department arrested junior wide receiver Dajzon Dukes, 20, of Louisville, Kentucky, on charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary Tuesday. If convicted, the charges are Class A felonies and punishable by 10 years to life.
Dukes is accused of robbing a man at the Alpine Village apartment complex in May, according to the police report.
The Lauderdale County Detention Center is holding Dukes on $100,000 bail.
The UNA football team has indefinitely suspended Dukes until further investigation, according to Sports Information.
Dukes played all 11 games in his freshman year at UNA, catching six passes for 90 yards and one touchdown. His lone touchdown came off a four-yard pass in his collegiate debut against Mississippi College.
