The Senate branch of the Student Government Association officially finalized and passed the budget for the 2015-2016 school year in the Sept. 24 meeting.

The finalized budget was $88,338, which matched the 2014-2015 budget limit.

SGA President Nick Lang said he is satisfied with this year’s budget.

“I believe that our budget is perfect,” Lang said. “I’m very excited to see how the money is going to be used this year.”

One senator suggested transferring $100 from the Freshman Forum line item and moving it to miscellaneous spending so the senate’s miscellaneous line item matched UPC’s. The senate declined this idea.

Lang said it took the senate three meetings to pass this year’s budget.

“I thank the senate for looking it over very carefully and diligently,” he said. “They did a great job.”
