UNA Police Department Administrative Assistant Laura Reese died Thursday morning following a short illness, according to a press release from the Department of Human Resources at UNA.

Reese served as the administrative assistant for the UNA Police Department since 2009, said officer Mark Parker.

“She always had a smile on her face and was always cheerful,” he said. “She went out of her way to make things work well in the department.”

Visitation services for Reese begin at 11 a.m. August 1 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Florence. The funeral service follows at 1 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence.
