Nearby vacation spots offer day-trip options for Spring Break

Are you going to spend another cliché spring break on a crowded beach in Panama City surrounded by people who are not familiar with the term ‘personal space’ or will you find a more unique and spontaneous way to spend your week off?

If you are interested in the latter I’ve come up with a few neat places to visit close to home.

McFarland Campground:

Love the outdoors but prefer to stay close to Florence this spring break? McFarland Park is a great option. The park has 60 campsites overlooking the Tennessee River.

Nashville:

Visit the Opry House, Country Music Hall of Fame, take a ride on General Jackson’s Showboat or just explore downtown. Anyone who has ever visited Nashville knows it is nothing short of an adventure.

Chief Ladiga Trail:

The Chief Ladiga Trail rests near the Alabama-Georgia state line and is the second longest paved trail in the country. The trail includes camp sites and is perfect for a biking trip or just enjoying the Alabama scenery.

Atlanta:

Most people are not strangers to the charm and attractions Atlanta has to offer. Be sure to stop by the CNN Center, enjoy a show at the Tabernacle and splash around at Six Flags.

Little River Canyon National Preserve:

Little River Canyon lies on top of Lookout Mountain in Northeast Alabama. Almost the entire river stretches the length of the mountain. One can relish camping, hunting and fishing at Little River Canyon.
