UNA police investigate alleged burglary, vandalism at Kappa Sigma Fraternity house
January 8, 2014
Campus police are currently investigating an alleged act of burglary and vandalism that took place at the Kappa Sigma Fraternity house on the morning of Jan. 2.
“(Suspects) threw blue paint on the front of our house,” said Mason Rogers, president of Kappa Sigma. “After that they went around to the back of the house and walked through that door of our house and put the paint all over the ground.”
The paint covered the house’s hardwood floors and a stuffed lion the fraternity owns. Three pictures were stolen from the house as well, Rogers said.
Police estimate the damages from the crime will cost $3,450, according to the UNA crime logs.
Campus police are currently following on leads they were given through phone calls once the investigation began, said Chief of Police Bob Pastula.
“I think we kind of have a clue of who it is, we are (cooperating) with the police right now,” Rogers said.
