Senators, athletic director meet to discuss moving student section

SGA senators have recently met with the university’s athletic director to discuss moving the student section to the home side of Braly Stadium during home football games.
Adam McCollum, chairman of the student welfare committee, discussed the meeting during his committee report that he and three other senators had previously met with Athletics Director Mark Linder.
“Although we did get what we wanted, we did work out a compromise with Mr. Linder,” he said.
The director suggested that the senate assemble a group of committed students who would be willing to stay the entire game, McCollum said.
“He (Linder) said that if we did this, he would reserve a section for them on the home side,” McCollum said. “He explained to us that the problem with putting the student section on the home side was that like half of the students leave at half time. Then, the home side looks empty.”
