Science building construction restricts parking options
April 29, 2013
Construction will begin soon on the new science and technology building, following the board of trustees’ recent approval of B.L. Harbert International LLC’s bid, said Director of Facilities Administration and Planning Michael Gautney via email.
Beginning Tuesday, April 30, the following areas will be affected in lieu of construction activities, Gautney said.
“Kilby North Parking lot will be closed off for the duration of the project and will be the location of the General Contractor’s job trailer,” Gautney said. “We will maintain access to the North parking lot to allow food deliveries to the kitchen while school is in session. Oakview Circle will be blocked off to through traffic for the duration of the project with gate access on each end. The north end will be gated near the north Kilby parking lot. The south end will be gated just north of the Delta Chi Fraternity house (563 Oakview Circle). The temporary parking lot at 615 North Pine St. (old Maintenance Facility) will be closed permanently.”
