The GSC tennis tournaments will be held in Montgomery April 20-21 at Lagoon Park Tennis Center and Alabama State’s Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.

The UNA men’s team received the No. 6 seed, with a 2-5 record in the GSC.

They will play West Alabama, who has a 19-2 record this season. UWA defeated UNA 1-8 earlier this season.

“We are going to have to play better than we did earlier this season, which I think we are doing right now,” said Brice Bishop, head coach.

Bishop said playing West Alabama will be especially fun for the team, citing their March 16 loss to the Tigers.

“I am excited about where we are seeded,” he said. “It gives us a chance to play them again.”

The women will play either Delta State or West Georgia in the first round of the tournament, but Bishop said he is excited to play either team.

“They are both good teams,” he said. “We have good matchups with both.”

Both teams will play their first round matches April 20.
