Former UNA football player arrested for assault

A former UNA football player was arrested for first-degree assault April 2. Khadedryck Todd was charged with assaulting a man. The victim was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital.

The victim, who remains unidentified, got into a verbal altercation with Todd around 7 p.m. inside a convenience store at the intersection of Pine Street and Chisholm Road. The two men left the store and began to fight in the parking lot, resulting in injuries to the victim’s head. Police report Todd continued to assault the man while he lay on the ground.

Todd had already been removed from the team that morning for unrelated issues. He was a starting offensive lineman who signed with UNA in 2017.

Todd is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on bond of $50,000, according to Times Daily.

In Alabama, first-degree assault is punishable by fines of upwards of $30,000 and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
