The University of North Alabama encourages students to invite their parents and relatives to come and see what campus life is all about on Saturday, Oct. 11
This year’s Family Weekend is the third continuum of the event which first began in 2023. It started as a way for parents to get a deeper understanding of UNA and the programs it offers to their children. It also acts as a way for a parent to get familiar with the campus.
Tiffany Hill-Patterson, the creator of Family Weekend and head of Student Engagement said, “This is a chance for families to come spend the day with their student, and kind of see how things are in their day-to-day life.”
Check-in for Family Weekend starts at 8:30 a.m. Activities will begin at 11 a.m. and run through 2 p.m.
Families will be able to visit a wide variety of colleges and departments at UNA. From the College of Nursing to the College of Business and Technology, parents will be able to get a rich understanding of our university’s best programs.
Different student organizations on campus will host activities to showcase what their programs consist of. The University Police Department will be present, along with the Flor-ala, the Cole Honors College and many more.
Family Weekend will end at 3 p.m. when the Lions kick off against Central Arkansas at Braly Stadium.
