Clinton Carter left his position as vice president of Business and Financial Affairs at UNA to become the revenue policy advisor for Gov. Bentley’s office last month.

Carter worked at the governor’s office as the deputy state finance director before his position at the university.

UNA wishes Carter the best on his new endeavors, said President Kenneth Kitts in his communique.

Until the university determines a suitable candidate to fill Carter’s position, Evan Thornton will be serving as acting chief financial officer, Kitts said.

“Evan is an experienced budget officer,” Kitts said. “A certified public accountant, he came to UNA last year as controller and has worked previously for the city of Athens and Athens State University.”
