Volleyball (11-17, 7-9):

The Lions concluded the regular season with three road GSC losses to Christian Brothers, Shorter and West Georgia Nov. 6 through 10. The team is set to play Valdosta State in the opening round of the GSC Tournament next weekend in Pensacola, Fla. The winner will face top-seed West Florida in the second round.

Football (5-5, 2-3):

UWA – 42

UNA – 27

The Lions fizzled out in their final season game at West Alabama Nov. 8, where the defense continued to struggle and the offense was unable to close the scoring gap. The game ended the 2012 season for the Lions, who won’t advance to the GSC or NCAA D-II tournaments.

Soccer (13-6-1, 7-3-1):

UWF – 4

UNA – 2

After defeating the Valdosta State Blazers in the first round of the NCAA D-II South Regional in Pensacola, Fla., Nov. 9, the Lions dropped the semifinal match to West Florida, losing to the Argonauts for the third time this season. The loss brings the team’s season to an end.

        Fisk – 7

The basketball teams started off their home season with two wins agasint Fisk Nov. 12. The women host Montevallo Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. while the men play Miles on the road.
