Kilby reunion cancelled after student death

Organizers of the Kilby Laboratory School Reunion have decided to cancel the reunion following the recent death of a first grader. The reunion was scheduled to take place Sept. 29.
Coleen Persell, 6, of Florence was killed Sunday, Sept. 9 after she sustained injuries in an accident, university officials said.
The reunion’s silent auction and luncheon will be rescheduled for a later date in April to coincide with Kilby’s annual 5k run.
