UNA Soccer defeats West Alabama

The Lions defeated the Tigers of West Alabama 4-0 behind a pair of goals by forward Chloe Richards to open conference play at home Friday night.

Richards found the net in the fourth minute after a cross from midfielder Ellis Hillman found her in the box on the backside of the play.  Five minutes later forward Chloe Roberts scored her 84th career goal on a clever pass from midfielder Jo Chubb.

Thirty seconds before the end of the first half Hillman scored to make it 3-0.  Quick, one-touch passing through the middle of the field allowed Roberts to slide a pass between the UWA back line and put Hillman one-on-one with the keeper before slotting it neatly in the corner.

Richards scored her second goal of the game in the 56th minute on an assist from forward Jennifer Osmond.

UNA freshman goalkeeper, Schyler Arnold recorded four saves and along with another solid performance from the defense got the clean sheet.
