Eight UNA students and faculty members have claimed their iPod

Touch devices after a contest that the Mane Card office, in

association with Coca Cola, held starting Nov. 1. Though it was

intended to last through early December, the Vend and Win contest,

which involved eight Coke machines located across campus, finished

early.

To win the contest, a student or faculty member at UNA had to

purchase a Coke product from one of the eight participating

machines across campus. If a student found a sticker on a drink

that read “You Win,” they could turn in the sticker and drink

container to the Mane Card office to receive a free iPod Touch.

Each machine contained only one prize-winning drink, though it

could be any bottle in the machine, not necessarily a Coke or Diet

Coke.

Robert Holderfield was the first winner, with the machine in

Wesleyan Hall. Ciesha Bonner got the second prize in Stevens Hall’s

Coca Cola machine. Christina Cobb was the third winner of the

contest and was given the winning bottle by the actual buyer of the

drink, according to Jennifer Sharp, student service coordinator of

the Mane Card office. The fourth winner of the contest was Shauna

James from Student Financial Services, who purchased the drink in

the Bibb Graves machine. Other winners included Walter Hartley,

Taylor Crow, Marvin Miller and Chelsea Ross.
