Enrollment beats previous record

Enrollment at UNA reached a new high this semester with more than 7,520 students.

While the college will not collect enrollment data until Sept. 15, the school has confidence that enrollment will stay high, said President Kenneth Kitts in his communiqué.

“That number could decrease with the second and final purge for non-payment later this week,” he said. “However, it is likely that any change at this point will be modest, and the officers closest to our enrollment effort feel confident that we will have at least 7,400 students when all is said and done.”

During the fall 2015 semester, enrollment reached 7,078, which is 442 less students than the current headcount.

The previous enrollment record was in 2007 with 7,323 students.
