Photographer gets close to campus, explores icons

It is easy to identify some of the more well-known locations on campus, and if you are a full-time student, even some of the more obscure ones. It is also easy to identify the amphitheatre or fountain or the George Lindsey Theater.

But how easy is it to name off the colors, materials or individual textures that make up these iconic UNA places?

One of the best parts of photography is getting a closer look at the photos after they are taken. Reliving the moments that often pass us by, photographers get a glimpse at some of the more minute details while processing photos.

Whether it’s an expression on someone’s face — my favorite — or even a random object flying through the air, I notice out-of-place things in my photos on a daily basis. These are often things I would have never taken the time to notice had I not taken the photo.

How many times have you walked past the fountain but not paid attention to the type of stone in its foundation? How many times have you walked through the GUC but not noticed the windows to the loft upstairs?

See if you can identify some of the images here, all of which are icons embedded deep within our lives at UNA. It may be harder than you think! And to find the full images, check out our photo gallery online at www.florala.net.
