Senate plans semester, discusses upcoming goals

Issues with eateries on campus and grocery availability were heavily discussed during today’s Senate meeting. SGA has taken note of the limited options and has begun working with Sodexo. Starting soon there will be an option to order a pizza to go from Thursday through Sunday for $10 each.

SGA President Will Riley said student participation will be a factor in whether or not this type of dining expands.

Senate members said they are currently working on a plan for a student survey to better meet student’s needs.

Also, a motion to officially name the on-campus bookstore was made and is in the beginning stages.

Several other upcoming events were discussed.

Freshman Forum has a blood drive scheduled for Feb. 19 in the performance center of the GUC. A spelling bee will be held on March 19 and “Rave to Raise- Part 2” on April 11.

A 5k walk/run is also being planned, with proceeds going to benefit the SGA Endowed Scholarship, said Senate officials.
