2120 Music, a local artist management and indie record label established in Muscle Shoals, has hosted Sunset Sessions on the third Friday of every month. They began in June and continue through October.
Local musicians perform live underneath string lights in the plaza. These sessions are held at the Mobile Street Plaza in downtown Florence. The events begin at 5 p.m. and last until 8 p.m.
The Sunset Sessions are open and free to the public. Various seating options like benches, tables and lawn chairs were provided for attendees.
Organizers encourage attendees to stop by local businesses and sponsors in the plaza to enjoy food and drinks during the performances. The businesses include Lost Pizza Co., Wildwood Tavern and The Carriage Wine and Market.
A local UNA student, Courtney Lyons, attended the event.
“I didn’t grab any food or anything, but I did enjoy walking around Graffiti Alley while listening to the people performing,” said Lyons. “It was a really nice environment.”
The Sunset Sessions’ last scheduled event is for Oct 17, but 2120 Music stated on their website, “Weather permitting, we may extend the Sunset Sessions through November to December.”
