UNA’s soccer team opens the ASUN conference championship against Jacksonville University and loses in a goalless match.
On Oct. 30, the team traveled to Nashville and opened the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship against Jacksonville. The game finished with a 0-0 tie. Ultimately, Jacksonville gained the win after a 4-3 penalty kick. The loss dropped the women’s record to 4-3-3 in conference play Throughout the game, UNA shot for the goal seven times, five on target and two on corners. Jacksonville shot for the goal 29 times but was unable to score any goals after goalkeeper Madison Vukas’ 15 saves and 14 blocks from defense.
The last time UNA women’s soccer won against Jacksonville was in the 2023 season on the road to the ASUN Championship.
Last year, during the 2024 season, the team was unable to make it to the semifinals with a final loss and an end-of-season game against Central Arkansas.
During the 2023 soccer season, the team was able to make it all the way to the final round of the ASUN championship. Gaining a quarterfinal round win against Queens University and a semifinal round win against Lipscomb.
UNA played in the final round of ASUN against Florida Gulf Coast University. The game ended in a 3-3 tie, with the win going to FGCU on a 3-2 penalty kick.
