Season comes to an end as women’s basketball falls to Central Arkansas in championship quarterfinal, 56-67.
No. 6 seed North Alabama finishes the 2025-2026 season with a 17-14 overall record, 11-7 in Atlantic Sun Conference play, the program’s most wins since the 2019-2020 season. No. 3 Central Arkansas Sugar Bears improved to 21-10 and advanced to the semifinals.
The Lions started quickly, shooting 47.1 percent from the field to take a 20-14 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 37-33 advantage into halftime. Central Arkansas gained momentum in the second half, taking a 48-46 lead entering the fourth quarter before outscoring UNA 19-10 in the final period to seal the win.
Junior Katie Criswell led the Lions with 16 points, while Sofia Ceppellotti added 14. Senior India Howard recorded a double-double in her final collegiate game with 10 points and a team-high 11 assists.
In year two under Head Coach Candi Whitaker, UNA improved its total wins by three games and earned its first postseason victory since 2020.
